Could This Be The LAST Doctor Who Logo?

With this entirely new era of #DoctorWho inbound, 'NuWho' is done, dusted, and over for good- apparently. Could this mean the usual approach of rebranding the show every few years ends with this new era too? What do you think? Is the reborn diamond logo here to stay, or is the brand going to regenerate again in a few years? 🎧 Check out Amy and I's NuWho rewatch podcast here: anchor.fm/kasterpod/

What if Disney Made a Doctor Who Ride?

The crossover we never knew we needed. With Disney getting involved with Doctor Who later this year (and inspired by my two week bender to Disney World last year), I have conjured up a concept to blend two of my favourite things, Daleks and Theme Parks. If Disney were to set their Imagineers on creating a timey-wimey attraction, would you be straight on a plane to Disney World? #DoctorWho #Disn...

Why Series 1 Was The BEST of Modern Doctor Who

    What bothers me with the queer baiting is all the praise it gets is meaningless. Bold and brave isn't how I'd describe a technique been done since 2005. I just have to mention Jack for season 1. Season 2 saw the return of Cassandra, who although introduced in season 1 did so many transitions in this season. I mean, my god. Plus, even if you don't find that funny. She did say she was a little boy. So there's that. Season 3 the Delany sisters "We're not sisters, we're married." Sorry, I'm an old-fashioned cat. Season 4 had that woman who got possessed in Midnight. Season 5 had.... I don't remember season 5. Season 6... had... the fat one and tall one? Was that season 6? Ah who cares. You get my point.

    It did take me a little while to accept Jodi, I confess. That wasn't because she was a woman; Michelle Gomez' was the first portrayal of the Master that I've really enjoyed watching. I thought she made him a lot more complex and interesting than pretty much any other actor, including Jeremy Simm. Simm had comedic potential, but his Master was really just vindictive and immature, to me. But I was worried for a while that the whole issue of Jodi being "the first female Doctor" was going to overshadow the producers bothering to get someone who was actually GOOD in the role, or give her good writing. I think Jodi ultimately suffered in the role for the same reason that Peter Capaldi did before her. Namely, that she was a potentially great actress who was hamstrung by bad writing, cringeworthy dialogue, and a general managerial commitment to evangelical Wokeness first, and good science fiction second. At her best, 13 was an audacious, slightly quieter, and more angsty version of 11. The Doctor's trademark alien detachment was very much present with her, which I liked, and which also helped tie her to the previous group. Although the less said about the "Fam," the better. Ryan, I truly don't care about either your dead Mum, or your deadbeat Dad. Kindly go back to EastEnders where you belong, and stay out of my science fiction.

    You are still laughing? Well it isn’t like it changed the canon with the Timeless Children. Except that it did. It isn’t like Jodie was written badly. Except that she was. It isn’t like the ratings of Doctor Who went down so much that they decided to bring back David Tenant to bring back the fans only for that to be a big fail too because that didn’t change anything. Except that is what exactly happened. Then making the Doctor black and Gay must have saved the show right? Nope the ratings are tanking even more. Identify politics doesn’t work!! I am a Progressive and I hate this crap.

    I love this. Well done. I found your video while looking up the TARDIS in Disney Land. That's right, it's currently in Disney Land. We're getting close to the real thing. I think you're right, Epcot is the way to go. They can even get people to look like the Doctors, and pop a TARDIS in the UK Pavilion for photos ops.

  • @integrityinstall7860

    Great vid. I agree. There's so much that can be said about this run. The spinoffs and future build up makes this the most foundational runs in the nuwho. Rose ain't 19's girl. That was the retirement stage. Their relationship was built with Chris. David didn't have to deal with Jackie. She'd have eaten him up.

  • @mikalmos369

    Since the demise of the Mary Poppins ride at the UK Pavilion I can't think of a better place to put Doctor Who at Epcot then there

  • @unrellated
    @unrellated Месяц назад

    Let me add to this. Have you seen what it looks like when the TADRIS appears? It's almost like someone wanted it to be done with a Peppers Ghost trick. And if it's set up so that the TARDIS is actually behind the glass while the empty space is the reflection, then guests could walk around the glass and enter the police box that wasn't there a moment ago. Add in a basic hidden mirror trick to make it look like there's nothing behind, and you have Bigger on the Inside as well, all done without any moving parts that might ever need to be put in B mode.

    Unfortunately Disney does not the rights to Doctor Who (that still belongs to the BBC). Seeing the Tardis in the vicinity of a Disney of park as a promotion does give some hope that the two of them coming up with a joint venture (such as "Yet Unnamed Doctor Who Ride Experence sponsored by the BBC).

    Fantastic! I like the level of thought put into this. Clearly you're a big fan of Dr. Who. I am also, but I'm skeptical of this it seems a little too complicated for Disney to put the effort into a IP that isn't there's officially. I think Disney should put Dr. Who into EPCOT but instead splice Dr. Who into a face-lift update of Sapceship Earth. Mild appearance on the ride that fans and non-fans can relate to, then a post show in the first floor that blasts new emersive interactive experiences based on Dr. Who.
